ROAR INTO THE 24
Here we go. Sim Racers are rocketing into January, 2023, and another edition of the annual Virtual Daytona 24 on iRacing is upon us. Like the real IMSA version a week later, the dynamic is turned upon its head: a new class of top tier car in the BMW GTP/LMDh changes the strategy and placement of splitting. After weeks of testing and practice, teams are getting locked in and ready for one day.
MAD Sim Racing Endurance returns for its third year of competition, after a massive entry list in 2022 that netted three victories. This year, in the Official iRacing 24, two teams will debut the BMW GTP in search of an overall win, while two LMP2 teams will take the grid, and three GT3/GTD entries will go for class wins. MAD Sim Racing Endurance Drivers will officially kick off the festivities with the iRacing ROAR Special Event this Saturday, with many drivers entering in the top GT4 class in that 2.4 Hour single driver event. From there, it’s a final week of furious preparation as iRacing physics changes changed the dynamic of using legacy setups for most of the cars, leaving teams scrambling to find the right engineering for 24 hours of team racing. Follow team progress on madsimracing.com and social media, as well as the team Discord.
